Boiler.Business

A marketing practice that reads the boiler ledger first

Boiler.Business is a Canadian marketing and business consulting service for boiler companies, part of the Sedighi.ca and SAZ.ca group, headquartered in Vancouver and led by Ali Sedighi, MBA.

Written by Ali Sedighi, MBALast updated:

Boiler.Business exists because boiler companies kept asking the same question: how much should we spend to win a job? The honest answer depends on the job. This practice plans marketing from the economics of installs, service agreements and parts, and reports on whether those economics held.

The company and where it sits

Boiler.Business is a Canadian marketing and business consulting service for boiler and hydronic heating companies. It is part of the Sedighi.ca and SAZ.ca group of companies and is headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia, serving owners in every province and territory.

Within the group, it belongs to the HVAC.Agency family. Sedighi.ca is the consulting company through which Ali runs growth, marketing and technology work; HVAC.Agency, HVAC.Digital, Trades.Agency, BusinessConsulting.ca and Conv.ca all sit under it. SAZ.ca (Strategy & Acceleration Zone), which Ali founded, is the group's Canadian firm for strategy, AI and revenue acceleration work. Plans and prices therefore follow the HVAC.Agency family, set out on our pricing page.

Ali Sedighi, MBA

Ali Sedighi holds an MBA in Technology Management and has 17+ years of experience in digital marketing, beginning in 2007, when he founded ONE.ir, a full-service digital marketing agency. He now lives and works in Vancouver.

Alongside this work he founded Conv.ca, which specialises in conversion-rate optimisation, and MyAutomation.ca. At SAZ.ca he is Founder & Managing Partner. Over his career he has served clients in Canada, the USA and Dubai.

The part most relevant here is heating. Ali has built 150+ live HVAC websites, among them CombiBoiler.ca, GasBoilers.ca, BoilerPart.ca, vancouverboilers.ca, burnabyboiler.ca, emergencyboiler.ca and boiler-maintenance.ca. Several of those sites are boiler specialists, which is why this practice concentrates on boilers. Our results page covers what those projects show.

Why start from unit economics

Starting from the money changes which questions get asked. An agency that starts from channels asks how many leads it can produce. We start by asking what each type of job leaves behind once its direct costs are paid, and what share of that you are willing to spend to win it.

That framing matters more in boilers than in most of heating. A combi replacement, a system boiler with indirect tank, a hydronic retrofit and an annual service visit sit at very different price points with very different labour loads. Treating them as one blended "lead" is how good campaigns get cancelled and weak ones survive. The guides show the arithmetic in full.

How we work with an owner

The work follows the same order every time, because each step depends on the one before it.

  1. Your numbers, roughly. Typical sold prices by boiler type, the annual fee on your service plan, typical repair invoices and last season's spend. Your accountant's figures beat our estimates.
  2. Ceilings per unit. An allowable cost per installed boiler, per signed agreement and per booked repair, written down and agreed before any spend changes.
  3. Measurement before scale. Call tracking, job matching and a simple monthly ledger, set up through unit-economics tracking, so the ceilings can be checked.
  4. Spend where the ceilings allow. Search, maps, website and pricing pages tuned for the units that can afford them.
  5. A monthly report in your language. Cost per installed boiler, agreements signed and renewed, repair calls booked, not impressions.

Positioning and limits

We say plainly what we do not do. Boiler.Business is not a heating contractor; it never installs, repairs or services equipment and never competes with you for a homeowner's work. It is not an accounting firm, and it gives no tax or financial-statement advice. It is not a regulator either: where we mention bodies such as Technical Safety BC, TSSA or ABSA, we link them so you can read their requirements yourself.

Owners thinking further ahead, about scaling or eventually selling, can read our sister site Boilers.Business on valuation drivers and exit readiness. Clean unit economics tend to help that conversation too.

Frequently asked questions

Who owns Boiler.Business?

Boiler.Business belongs to the Sedighi.ca and SAZ.ca group of companies. It is operated from Vancouver, British Columbia, and led by Ali Sedighi, MBA, who founded SAZ.ca and runs Sedighi.ca's growth and marketing consulting.

Are you a heating contractor?

No. Nobody at Boiler.Business holds a gas ticket or works on heating systems of any kind. We work only on the marketing, pricing presentation and measurement side of a boiler company.

Do you give accounting or financial advice?

No. We plan and measure marketing using margin figures you or your accountant supply. Bookkeeping, tax and financial statements belong with a qualified accountant.

How is this different from a general HVAC agency?

The channels are familiar, but the planning starts somewhere else. We set a cost ceiling for each unit a boiler company sells before deciding how much to spend or where, and every report is judged against those ceilings.
